Campfire is a self-reflection and journaling app that gives you writing prompts and gentle guidance to help explore your thoughts, feelings, and growth. It's a personal space — and we treat it that way.

2. What Info We Collect

a. Info You Share

We collect info you choose to give us, like:

  • Email address – to create your account and send updates
  • Your journal entries & responses – to provide personalized insights and save your reflections

b. Info We Collect Automatically

To help us improve Campfire and keep things running smoothly, we collect:

  • Device info – browser type, OS, and general interaction data
  • Cookies – for login, remembering preferences, and understanding usage
  • Analytics – we use tools like PostHog and Mixpanel to learn how people use Campfire and what we can make better

3. How We Use Your Info

We use your info to:

  • Help you use the app and access your entries
  • Send occasional product updates or messages
  • Understand how people are using Campfire (so we can improve it)
  • Build toward future features like paid tiers or enhanced journaling tools

4. Who We Share It With

We don't sell your data. Ever. We only share it when it helps us run Campfire better:

  • Supabase – for secure cloud storage
  • PostHog / Mixpanel – for anonymous analytics
  • OpenAI – for AI journaling prompts and insights. Your entries are anonymized before they're sent (no name, no email, just the journal content)

We may also share data if we're legally required to, or if you explicitly give us permission.

5. Keeping It Safe

We use encryption and modern tools to keep your info secure. But, just being real, no system is 100% bulletproof. We're committed to doing our best.

6. For the Young Folks

Campfire isn't made for kids under 18. If you're under 18, please don't use the app.

7. Your Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • See what info we have about you
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Opt out of any messages or tracking
